    Material Evidence – Jenna Hamed

Material Evidence, the publication, was conceived and designed by Jenna Hamed, featuring the work of Nazanin Noroozi and Esperanza Mayobre on the occasion of the exhibition at Baxter Street at the Camera Club (October 26th - December 6th, 2023).

This publication was produced under the guidance of Faride Mereb and Oriana Nuzzi of Letra Muerta Inc., who led the pre-press processes, assisted with layout and design, and managed printing and assembly. The silk screen prints were printed by Nazanin. The exhibition photographs were captured by Lloyd McCullough. Papers used: Springhill, Legion Stonehenge, Hahnemühle inkjet, Hahnemühle Photo Rag Bayarta. Fonts used: Vodan, Big Caslon, Helvetica Neue, Montserrat. Thanks to Jil Weinstock, Sydney Ellison, Mashael Alsaie, Jesse Cesario and the rest of the Baxter team for their support in the making of this exhibition. This project was supported by the Phillip and Edith Leonian Foundation.

About the exhibition: Material Evidence proposes the extension of an image’s lifespan beyond the archive by introducing a conversation among multi-disciplinary lens based artists. With the works of Nazanin Noroozi and Esperanza Mayobre, Material Evidence assembles an array of works on canvas and paper alongside photographs and film footage that the artists use to vanish the original photographer’s presence, asserting their hand-applied revitalization of a historicized record.
