Sept 21 • SEEDS, walk and family workshop – Carmen Bouyer

Join Carmen Bouyer this Saturday 21st for a family walk around the neighborhood starting at McCarren Park at 10am. Kids and adults will observe seeds and learn when and how to forage them delicately and ethically. Together we will also explore personal ways to create reciprocity with the plants, through simple artistic practices such as spontaneous poetry, sound and movement.

The walk will continue with a visit to the beautiful garden of our friends at the Greenpoint Public Library and end at the bookstore with a light snack.
There we will learn how seed saving practices and dissemination in urban landscapes can support the local biodiversity. We will have fun creating seed balls - mixing seeds, soil and clay - for future propagation in the neighborhood.

This family workshop is an introduction to the adult workshop on Thursday Sept 26 about collaboratively creating a textile seed library which will be hosted at the bookstore.
