    It's fig season! Explore the many uses and significance of figs in the Levant region through this hands-on workshop. Activities include learning about the tree morphology, dissecting figs to uncover their unique biological features, creating artistic leaf impressions where you’ll learn techniques for transferring the intricate patterns of leaves onto paper, followed by brewing your own fig leaf tea after grinding the leaves. To finish, join our “Fareed the Fox Fig Party” where you can enjoy your fig leaf tea with a fig tart.

    Ages 4 and up, this hands-on workshop is ideal for families, fig enthusiasts, and anyone interested in exploring this versatile fruit tree. 

    Zane Elias is a Palestinian-American environmental educator and gardener. He completed a fellowship at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens Children's Garden and currently works alongside the waterfront alliance as their environmental educator.
