    Feb 6 • Soma Soma Soma #4

Join us for SOMA SOMA SOMA, a series of workshops that explore what somatics practices are and why practicing them together is so powerful. Each session will feature a guest co-facilitator, bringing fresh perspectives as we discover how working with the body and mind helps us connect, heal, and grow as a collective. In this workshop we will rehearse the future together as we “feel into and re-member our bodies and ourselves as an anti-colonial and liberation practice. We understand the work of creating the conditions and contexts to access our wholeness as deeply political…”  (Ewa Jasiewicz, Farzana Khan, Sarah Al-Sarraj,…

Somatics is about our ability to be present with sensations and emotions by building tolerance for what we feel. It helps us become aware of our current practices and learn new ones that align with our values and who we want to become.

    This session's question
How can we practice radical care in a time of polycrisis?

"Radical care is multidirectional and interdependent. In this ecosystem, care doesn’t flow in one direction or even reciprocally but rather gathers where it is needed"

A manifesto for radical care or how to be a human in the arts by Tian Zhang ON CARE (read here)

    FACILITATORS

Amélie Gaulier is a somatic movement therapist, performance artist, and community organizer dedicated to guiding people in remembering the power of body-wisdom, collective decolonial repair, and radical imagination. She trusts the interconnected intelligence of our ancient bodies to heal and transform through deep listening and uncovering their stories. Of french and mediterranean white-bodied descent, she is based in Brooklyn, NY, on unceded Canarsie land, and involved in Abolition Solidarity NYC and NYC to Palesti. Learn more at ameliegaulier.com

Emily Thulier is committed to helping individuals (re)connect with their capacity to feel whole.
