MAR 13 • Shai Bil Laban: Sarah x Azra Ramadan Henna Kit Launch Night

Join us for some tea and henna at our cozy launch event for the Sarah x Azra Henna Ramadan kit. There will be henna, Sudanese shai bil laban (tea with milk), sweet treats from @kindacutenyc , and good vibes. 

This is the first of 3 events that will center Henna, Art, and Sudan. The next two will include an art workshop on March 27, and then a film screening and panel discussion in April. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

This event is a fundraising event, funds will be going to Sunduq Al Sudan, an umbrella initiative supporting mutual aid groups carrying out critical humanitarian work in response to the crisis in Sudan.

Sarah Elawad is a British Sudanese artist. She received her MFA in Graphic Design from the Yale School of Art in 2023 and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY. Sarah’s artwork celebrates beauty, love, and her culture, often highlighted through explorations of her interpersonal relationships. Her visual practice is collage-like, kitsch, and experimental, encompassing a diverse range of materials such as experimental prints, garments, textiles, video art, installations, and more.
