APR 12 • FAMILY PROGRAM – Objects from home with Lauren Daccache
Objects from Home is a playful, hands-on photo and book-making workshop where kids explore the idea of home through the objects they treasure. Each child is invited to bring in a special object that reminds them of home—anything from a toy to a kitchen tool to a family keepsake. We’ll photograph each object and print the image on-site, then kids will cut, paste, draw, and collage their way into creating their own handmade book. Their objects will also go into a collaborative book for Storm’s book collection. This workshop encourages storytelling, creativity, and connection to memory and place—all through the eyes of children. Designed for kids ages 4–10.
This workshop is an interactive extension of Lauren’s ongoing project, Objects From Home, in which she goes into the living spaces of people who identify with the Lebanese diaspora and photograph the objects they surround themselves with that remind them of Home. The project will eventually live as a publicly accessible inventory. If you're interested in participating by sharing your objects, please email daccache.studio@gmail.com.
