APR 13 • DESIGN TALKS – Ala Tannir x Tala Safie
This spring, we're hosting a series of talks across design, architecture, illustration, and comics, curated by Tala Safie. Each one will focus on a single project and explore how it evolved through iterations and collaboration.
First up: Ala Tannir on the story of a Beiruti coastal house from the late 1920s, the subject of “and from my heart I blow kisses to the sea and houses” — “وقبل للبحر والبيوت”, a project that’s been in the works for four years. In her talk, Ala Tannir will highlight the artistic and experimental processes she convened to rehabilitate this house after it was damaged by the Beirut Port blast in 2020, while reflecting on questions of preservation of built and cultural heritage in a city ruled by unchecked real estate development.
The talk will be followed by a conversation with Tala Safie.
Q’s will be A’d! Wine is optional :)
RSVP is required as spaces are limited.
If you're unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible
