Dec 4 • !شي حلو SOMETHING SWEET: A Tile Workshop Inspired by Confections with Rama Duwaji

We're delighted to welcome Rama Duwaji as she introduces us to the art of ceramic painting, with a focus on sweets, inspired by the history of our space as a candy and ice cream shop in the 1940s. 

Rama will demonstrate the techniques involved in ceramic painting, after which participants will design their own set of four ceramic tiles. All materials and firing fees are included, come by the following week to pick up your finished pieces.

Light refreshments and treats will be provided!

Rama Duwaji is a Syrian illustrator and animator based in Brooklyn, NYC. Using drawn portraiture and movement, Rama examines the nuances of sisterhood and communal experiences. Through this lens she has worked with a variety of clients, most notably the Washington Post, BBC, Apple, Spotify, and VICE. She has also taught workshops on both illustration and animation alongside It’s Nice That in 2021.
