Oct 24 • Prints for Palestine – prompt:
Join us for the launch of “Prints for Palestine,” a fundraiser series of risograph prints archiving the work, words, and activism of pro-Palestine Jewish and Palestinian artists, writers, and performers within the wider community of prompt:, an artist press based in New York. Translating a selection of Instagram posts into print, the series documents social media’s role as a space for response and collectivization throughout the ongoing genocide. By preserving in print content that can be hidden, removed, or otherwise suppressed in its original online form, the series also reflects on this period of rampant censorship—algorithmic, institutional, and systemic. The resulting prints construct a mini archive of a year of protest, solidarity, grief, and mourning.
Proceeds from sales will be donated to the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), an organization that is working on the ground to provide food, water, medical supplies, medical treatment, and other necessities to families in Gaza.
Prints for Palestine includes contributions from Omar Abboud, Morgan Bassichis, Saj Issa, Kate Laster, and Mahdi Sabbagh. This event will include short readings of the featured texts.
The prints were designed by graphic designer Katy Nelson, typeset in fonts by Palestinian type designer Hasan Abu Afash, and produced in Brooklyn by Small Editions.
