Each of these silk textile art piece is unique and made with care by artist Carmen Bouyer. The fabric is dyed with indigo, hand painted with reseda, cochineal, indigo, acacia. Shapes come from gathered leaves of Brooklyn trees : Pin Oak, Red Oak, Linden, Honeylocust, White Ash, Wild Rose.
When buying a piece, 100% of the money goes to Dikken el Mazraa, an experimental solidarity grocery based in Beirut that prices its quality products according to the financial situation of its members. It promotes local and eco-friendly producers and encourages social mixing and integration. The grocery and the producers it works with are currently providing free meals and food to those displaced. Working with many others on the ground to help those who are in need during this moment of extreme urgency.
