Prints – Prints for Palestine (benefit edition)
Prints for Palestine is a fundraiser series of risograph prints archiving the work, words, and activism of pro-Palestine Jewish and Palestinian artists, writers, and performers within the wider community of prompt:. Translating a selection of Instagram posts into print, the series documents social media’s role as a space for response and collectivization throughout the ongoing genocide. By preserving in print content that can be hidden, removed, or otherwise suppressed in its original online form, the series also reflects on this period of rampant censorship—algorithmic, institutional, and systemic. Published in October 2024, the prints construct a mini archive of a year of protest, solidarity, grief, and mourning.
Proceeds from sales will be donated to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), an organization that is working on the ground to provide food, water, medical supplies, medical treatment, and other necessities to families in Gaza.
Prints for Palestine includes contributions from Omar Abboud, Morgan Bassichis (text) / Zachary Schulman (photo), Saj Issa (text and artwork) / Collin W. Elliott (photo), Kate Laster, and Mahdi Sabbagh. The series is typeset in PF Aljamal and HS Hadeel, both of which were designed by Hasan Abu Afash, a Palestinian type designer who lived and worked in Gaza until he was forced to evacuate in April 2024. The prints were designed by graphic designer Katy Nelson and produced in Brooklyn by Small Editions.
The reverse of each image includes the text of the original Instagram post.
Prints will begin to ship during the last week of October.
