WORKSHOP 4/20 : What is my role in social transformation? – Amelie Gaulier
WORKSHOP Saturday 20 : What is my role in social transformation? – Amelie Gaulier
In partnership with Here4theKids an education movement dedicated to abolition and dismantling systems of oppression, we are thrilled to offer a 2nd workshop with Amélie, for anyone interested in deepening their relationship to community and activism.
Somatic and embodiment practices will help tune into our bodies to collect, think, and feel what we are longing for. We’ll be invited to identify our roles in the world, and what we care about, grounded in our whole presence, in finding joy and play. Playful activities from mindful movement, journaling, collective reflection and social transformation mapping will support participants to birth joyful acts of militancy into our lives and environments.
Among many resources, this workshop is inspired by "Joyful Militancy: Building Thriving Resistance in Toxic Time" – a book by Carla Bergman and Nick Montgomery–and inspired by the social change ecosystem map by Deepa Lyers.
Schedule:
Welcoming Meditation
Journaling
Somatic exploration
Break & refreshements
Collective social transformation mapping
Harvesting & Closing
Amélie Gaulier (She/Her) is a movement therapist member of ISMETA and mindfulness instructor living in Brooklyn, NY.
